Sexualized violence is pervasive across all social structures. Yet, there remains a strong taboo around addressing this widespread problem. This taboo is largely rooted in the prevailing culture of silence. Nora Kellner examines why survivors remain silent and how this silence is manifested and reproduced. To do so, she explores various myths surrounding sexualized violence and deconstructs them using practical examples.
Nora Kellner is a survivor of sexualized violence. Her personal experiences motivate her to highlight and make visible societal dynamics and structures.
CW: As the title indicates, the event will address sexualized violence. This will be discussed both on a theoretical level and through explicit descriptions of sexualized violence. Nora Kellner emphasizes that survivors are fully capable of engaging with this topic, and this process can even be empowering. Therefore, this trigger warning is not intended as a reason to exclude anyone from the event. However, there are days, moments, or situations when survivors may not have the resources to engage with their own trauma, and that is completely valid. You are encouraged to decide for yourself which parts of the event you wish to attend.
