Talk – Action Week: Small-Scale Farmers’ Uprisings
In this talk, Coordination Against Bayer Dangers will discuss the crimes committed by the mega-corporation Bayer (pharmaceutical industry) against people and the land around the world.
✊🌱 We at La Via Campesina – Osnabrück, part of a global grassroots movement of Indigenous peoples, landless people, and small farmers, advocate for regenerative agriculture, food sovereignty for all, and the preservation of ecosystems and habitats.
❗️A shift away from industrial agriculture is desperately needed, as it is responsible for the ongoing destruction of soils, habitats, and human livelihoods all over the world. Whether it’s agricultural toxins poisoning the environment, people, and animals; monoculture and deforestation leading to soil erosion and the loss of local biodiversity; transportation routes rife with exploitation and massive climate-damaging CO2 emissions; or human rights violations during the violent appropriation of new farmland—the list of injustices, destruction, and violence associated with conventional industrial agriculture is long and could go on forever.
🌿With our action week from April 17 to 22, we want to address some of the injustices associated with industrial agriculture while also opening up perspectives for alternatives. We look forward to seeing you!
